The challenge: Improving data quality
“Boskalis wanted to elevate the data quality in the IGA and AD tools to enable more efficient decision-making and greater accuracy. Boskalis needed more insight into matters such as staff turnover, licenses, and access rights to improve joiner, mover, and leaver processes,” says Oscar Zonneveld, architect at Macaw. “To facilitate this growth, Boskalis was looking for a solution to better manage HR data in Workday and other data domains.”
The approach: Master data management with Profisee
Boskalis and Macaw met at a Power BI fair, and Macaw’s answers to the business case instilled confidence. “Boskalis had reached the limits of the master data management tools they had previously used. When we demonstrated Profisee’s capabilities, the organization was immediately enthusiastic. During the data project, Macaw worked systematically using the proven Fit for Value Framework. “We started with several workshops to map out Boskalis’ needs and requirements,” says René. “We got to know the company and the business case better by speaking with various stakeholders. We then developed an action plan that Boskalis agreed with. Moreover, this phase not only delivered a blueprint and data model but also provided initial insights.”

Within three months, the first results of the new master data management system became visible. Boskalis now has an even better understanding of the composition of different departments and the employees active within them at a group level. This provides valuable management information for handling identities, licenses, and access rights.
