After an extensive selection process, Coöperatie VGZ, in collaboration with Macaw, opted for Sitecore to re-platform their brand websites.

The decision to choose the Sitecore Experience Cloud was based on two key strategic goals: improving customer satisfaction (increasing NPS) and reducing operational costs. Coöperatie VGZ believes that accessible communication, personalized and relevant information, and automated processes contribute to these goals. The Sitecore Experience Cloud supports their online channels and provides the tools needed to empower business, marketing, and communication to achieve these objectives.

Sitecore Experience Accelerator (SXA)

Coöperatie VGZ places a strong emphasis on standardization across all its brands. By developing functionality once and reusing it multiple times, they achieve efficiency and reuse while ensuring better maintenance, stability, and security. At the same time, each brand retains its unique visual identity. Therefore, Coöperatie VGZ chose to implement the Sitecore Experience Accelerator (SXA) on top of Sitecore. SXA is a framework designed to standardize and streamline website development processes, reducing time-to-market and lowering development costs.

Shorter Time-to-Market

Using the Sitecore Experience Accelerator also helps shorten time-to-market. The first website built on VGZ’s Sitecore platform was completed in just six weeks. The approach involved starting almost immediately with creating the User Experience through wireframes. In parallel, the visual design was developed to align with the wireframes. As soon as the initial design elements were ready at the component level, front-end development began. Meanwhile, editors started adding the site structure and content. This process can be summarized as follows:

Show, Do Together, Do Independently

Coöperatie VGZ and Macaw collaborate under the theme “Show, Do Together, Do Independently.” As a strategic partner, Macaw primarily focused on knowledge transfer during the development of the first two websites. Tools like the Sitecore Experience Accelerator made this possible.

The next step involves building another VGZ brand website on the Sitecore Experience Cloud through joint efforts by Coöperatie VGZ and Macaw. Eventually, subsequent brand sites will be developed independently by Coöperatie VGZ, with Macaw providing guidance, coaching, and advice when needed.

This accessible and transparent way of working, supported by Macaw’s extensive expertise in business, marketing, and IT, helps Coöperatie VGZ achieve significant successes with relatively small steps.
