Don’t waste your time – use the Microsoft Power Platform!
Building a business app (or having it built) is almost always a lengthy process, which subsequently results in lost time for the business. But what if we told you there was a way around this? The Microsoft Power Platform solves the problem of lengthy app development processes and offers employees the possibility to build their own business apps. And we here at Macaw will help you sort this all out.
How does the Microsoft Power Platform work?
As opposed to having to learn code, all you will need when building business apps with the Microsoft Power Platform is the basic knowledge of Excel or PowerPoint. This means that the position of app developers changes vastly: they become data managers. Together with Macaw, they are responsible for providing the correct internal and external data to users. This is done via the Common Data Service (CDS) – the data layer where all data comes together. Using connectors, data is extracted from external applications such as Salesforce, SAP, Oracle or other (legacy) applications, while the front end of the app is completely transparent and user-friendly.
Other parts of the Microsoft Power Platform
In addition to the CDS, the Power Platform consists of three other parts:
- Power Apps – a tool for building custom apps that solve various business challenges. The apps are designed to work on numerous operating systems (iOS and Android) and devices (mobile, tablet and laptop).
- Microsoft Flow, which helps manage processes between various apps and / or the CDS. It’s an important component of the Power Platform because it automates and simplifies business processes.
- Power BI, which brings all data in the Power Platform together and allows you to convert it into interactive dashboards and reports. This enables your employees to discover insights and create a data-driven culture.
