Hoofddorp, 19 May 2021 – Macaw appointed Geert Rietbergen (55) as Director of International Delivery. Rietbergen will begin in this role where he will be responsible for the integration, management, standardization and further professionalization of the international delivery organization covering the Netherlands, Germany and Lithuania.
Before joining Macaw, from 2012 Rietbergen worked at the Emakina Group. In his last role there he was Executive Vice President responsible for acquisitions and expanding activities in the Middle East and Asia. Prior to that, Rietbergen was founder and Managing Partner of Suntzu and as Managing Director laid the foundations for today’s Emakina.nl.
International delivery organization
Macaw currently has a staff of 450 and by the end of 2025 aims to be a leading European player with a workforce of 1000 people. In March of this year the digital bureau netzkern, with branches in Wuppertal and Hamburg, became part of Macaw. Rietbergen will include the German operations in the international delivery strategy and approach. Macaw intends to continue its international expansion through both autonomous growth and acquisitions in which the emphasis will lie on Microsoft and Sitecore specialists, with a particular focus on data, customer experience solutions and business applications.
Successful cooperation
“Geert has broad experience of building a uniform group covering several countries, as well as accelerating digital transformation in large business organizations,” explains William van der Pijl, CEO of Macaw. “He also knows how to stimulate growth and foster cooperation in an international environment. With his extensive experience he can bring added value to many areas of our Macaw25 strategy where, initially, he will be responsible for the further professionalization of the international delivery organization. Given his drive and progressive outlook, I am confident that our cooperation will be successful and, above all, inspiring. I look forward to working closely with him.”
Unique people-centered culture
About his appointment Geert says: “Macaw is a splendid, innovative business with a strong reputation. The deciding factor for me, however, was its unique, people-centered culture – the Macaw DNA, as it is called in the corridors. By creating an environment of trust with a lot of responsibility and plenty of opportunities to learn and develop, the aim is for excellence and the best possible performance. And unique too, is that investor Avedon Capital Partners is also pursuing a buy-and-build strategy based on that same culture concept. I find that remarkable and it works like a magnet. I hope I will be able to strengthen and share my passion and that it will be an exceptionally rewarding and successful new journey.”
